Mountaineering THE CERVINO MATTERHORN MOUNTAIN

of Bepi Hoffer

It was the turn of the Crest of the Leo. The first time I arrived until Cervinom15.jpg (84057 byte) to the Pic Tindal, unfortunately late on the chart of march that I had intended.

The second time with Mark and the "Gadler" we nimbly climbed the easy but insidious passages that the mountain set us. The I camp out Carrel it is one it almost covers obligatory for those that climb in peak or for those that go down after having effected the beautiful crossing. In our case we spent the night together with others. To midnight it already snowed. It seemed to be in full winter. Small give finestrelle he/she was seen the thoughtless snow accumulate on the glasses. Out all dark and cold. A weeping attracts our attention, it was a young mountain climber of Turin that together with its girl he felt trapped by the fear to go down while she comforted him/it instead. The morning later exposed to the strong wind of the crest, with the frozen snow that tormented us the face, we began to go down to double rope really from that poggiolos of the I camp out that, escaping from the precipice, it acted from good anchorage for the descent.
Despite the scenery he/she horribly introduced him severe (the wall glass door, the crest enameled of snow and the storm), so much to be labored to recognize where the nails were for the following anchorages, the moral one was good. I Mark he/she didn't know how to do the "double" and therefore I lowered him/it, shouting him in an ear to stick to the first nail or chain that it found, however remembering him the place where it had to arrive. It immediately disappeared over a roof that in the slope it easily wanders, and after few meters it felt the rope stay himself/herself/themselves and not to go down anymore. Not riescivo to do nothing and then I gone down on the double one of two French that were behind of us. Hardly under the roof I see Mark attached to a small nail: him careful you/he/she had seen that invisible honey mushroom and it was you attached.
